Detectives from Organised Crime Gangs Group have charged a 31-year-old man with assault occasioning bodily harm in relation to an assault at Nerang on Saturday.
Initial investigations indicate at approximately 12.45pm police were called to a car park on Pappas Way, where a group of persons were involved in a disturbance in which a 38-year-old Coomera man suffered head injuries.
He was transported to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
Investigations led detectives to attend a Park Ridge address this afternoon, where a man was taken into custody.
The 31-year-old Park Ridge man has been charged with one count of assault occasioning bodily harm in company and one count of possession of a dangerous drug. He will appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court tomorrow.
Investigations are ongoing.
