Northern Territory Police have charged a 40-year-old man in relation to a in Alice Springs overnight.
Alice Springs detectives have now charged the man with:
- Abduct child under 16
- Unlawful use of motor vehicle
- Drink driving (medium range)
- Drive unlicensed
- Stealing
- Breach domestic violence order
He was remanded in custody.
Acting Commander Shaun Gill said, “This was a great outcome from Alice Springs police officers who located the child and swiftly arrested the suspect.
“This incident also shows the ability of NT Police to work together as part of a joint operation with the Dog Unit, Drone Unit, and officers attached to Operation Drina, and General Duties responding. I want to commend all the officers involved for their actions.
“Thankfully the child was returned to her mother unharmed and in good spirits.”
