A 76-year-old man has died following a hit and run incident at Rockhampton last night.
The man was struck by a vehicle as he left a hotel on Archer Street around 8:20pm last night, August 17.
The vehicle failed to stop, driving off in an easterly direction towards George Street.
The man sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision and died at hospital this morning.
The vehicle believed to have been involved has been found abandoned on Port Curtis Road just before 11am.
Investigators are appealing for the driver of the vehicle or anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact police.
