A man has been arrested and two others charged with firearms offences as part of ongoing investigations into an alleged shooting in East Toowoomba on October 16.
It is alleged that around 8pm a group of approximately nine people attended a residence on Curzon Street and made demands for money from the two male occupants known to them.
An altercation occurred, during which a 54-year-old resident was struck in the head with a glass object and shot in the hip with a small calibre projectile from a firearm.
The group then fled the scene and the man was transported to Toowoomba Hospital for treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.
Detectives last night attended an address in Toowoomba City where an 18-year-old man was arrested in relation to the matter.
He was charged with attempted robbery whilst armed with actual violence and possessing dangerous drugs.
Whilst investigating this matter detectives also located a shortened .22 calibre shortened firearm, a .22 calibre handgun, ammunition and a quantity of cannabis.
As a result, two 22-year-old men from Toowoomba were charged with firearms and drug related offences, with one of the men alleged to be connected to an incident on Wednesday evening in Toowoomba where a firearm was allegedly used to rob an associate.
All three men will appear in custody in the Toowoomba Magistrates Court later today.
