Detectives have charged a 14-year-old boy with murder following the death of a 17-year-old boy at Manoora early this morning.
It will be alleged shortly before 1am a disturbance occurred at Lychee Close involving a number of people.
A 17-year-old Mooroobool boy died in Cairns Hospital after being transported in a private vehicle prior to police arrival.
A second 17-year-old Mooroobool boy also presented at the Cairns Hospital for treatment to non-life-threatening injuries.
Both boys had sustained stab wounds.
Tonight detectives have charged a 14-year-old Edmonton boy with one count of murder.
He has been denied police bail to appear in the Cairns Childrens Court on = January 3.
