Police have charged two teenage boys following a fire that destroyed two homes in Mango Hill yesterday, May 14.
Emergency services were called to a building site on Deacon Crescent at approximately 2am following reports of a fire.
No one was physically injured, but two houses under construction were extensively damaged.
Investigators have since charged a 15-year-old Mango Hill boy with two counts of arson – structure or building, as well as one count each of enter premises with intent to commit indictable offence and endangering particular property by fire.
He was released on bail and is due to appear in Pine Rivers Children Court on May 27.
A 13-year-old Sandstone Point boy was charged with one count of trespass – unlawfully enter or remain in dwelling or yard.
He was delt with under the Youth Justice Act.
Police are appealing to anyone who may have been in the local area around the time of the fire, or who has any information which may assist investigations, to contact police.
Anyone with relevant CCTV or dashcam vision, particularly in the vicinity of Deacon Crescent between 1.30am to 2.30am, is also urged to contact police.
Investigations are ongoing.
