Police have charged a man with attempted murder following a serious wounding investigation in Booval yesterday afternoon.
At 4.40pm a 25-year-old Bundamba man was sighted walking from Booval Railway Station along South Station Road holding a compound bow.
Police will allege that the man discharged the bow at a female jogger and a moving vehicle.
He was described as wearing a black hoodie and a mask.
The man then entered a supermarket, where he allegedly discharged a bow again, hitting a 15-year-old North Booval teenager.
Members of the public apprehended the man, until police arrived and took him into custody.
The teenage girl was transported to the Children’s Hospital with wounds to her hand and stomach. Thankfully, they are not life threatening injuries.
The man has since been charged with attempted murder, torture and going armed so as to cause fear. He will appear in the Ipswich Magistrates Court today, September 23.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen the man, or motorists / homeowners with relevant dashcam/CCTV footage, to contact them.
