Police urge injured man Anthony Scott to seek medical treatment

Police are seeking public assistance in locating a man who is believed to have been seriously injured in a violent confrontation in Narre Warren yesterday.

Investigators believe 37-year-old Anthony Scott sustained a suspected gunshot wound to the upper body about 12.45am on Saturday, 23 September.

Police were called to reports of the incident in the Warrington Close about 12.45am yesterday but Scott and another man had left the scene before emergency services arrived.

Scott was last seen in the vicinity of Lydia Court in Forest Hill about 3am that morning.

Investigators have released an image of Scott in the hope someone may be able to provide information on his current whereabouts.

Our priority is to ensure he receives medical attention for his injuries and to establish if there are any other persons requiring assistance.

Investigators are strongly encouraging Scott’s friends and family to encourage him to seek medical treatment and make contact with police.

Scott may be in possession of a firearm and anyone who sees him is encouraged not to approach but to contact Triple-Zero (000) immediately.

The exact circumstances surrounding the incident in Narre Warren are yet to be determined but it is believed to be a targeted attack and investigations remain ongoing.
