Politicians crave a crisis: Lambert

Australian Conservatives Release

“To see through politicians’ falsehoods in an election campaign, consider water policy,” writes the Conservative Party’s South Australian Senate candidate, Rikki Lambert.

“As senator Cory Bernardi often observes, politicians crave a crisis, but God forbid that they ever solve a problem.

Whether it’s the energy, water or jobs, politicians jostle for more government control and spending whilst force-feeding us a scarcity diet.

Notice how we are shielded from nation-building, Playford-esque ways to become independent – adding more water, for instance, via northern diversion schemes or desalination coupled with reliable, affordable energy.

In any case, we must stick to the Murray-Darling Basin Plan and expose two villainous groups – those undermining the Plan, and those covering for them.

The water market is as murky as Murray water itself, and the opening 14% allocation is a slap in the face for SA Murray Irrigators.

Clearly those in power would rather punish those trying to get on with their lives and farming businesses – and grow food and jobs for South Australia.”
