Premier Jeremy Rockliff official opened Polyfoam’s new manufacturing facility in Westbury on Friday.
Polyfoam has been a leader in manufacturing insulated packaging for various industries, including produce, seafood, medical, food, transportation, as well as specialty packaging and insulation products.
“The Rockliff Liberal Government is a strong supporter of Tasmanian businesses, and we know by delivering on our long-term plan to keep the economy strong, businesses have the confidence to invest in our State,” Premier Rockliff said.
“Polyfoam’s investment exemplifies the incredible opportunities that exist for businesses looking to establish, diversify, or expand their operations in Tasmania.”
Polyfoam’s $10 million project supported 50 full-time jobs during construction and will provide up to 15 new jobs in regional Tasmania.
“We know this factory will play an important role in supporting the growth of industries in Tasmania, including aquaculture and agriculture.
“It will also provide a northern recycling base for expanded polystyrene products, giving the State the opportunity to be a leader in the closed-loop circular economy by diverting products from landfill.”
Premier Rockliff congratulated Simon Pickett on Polyfoam’s success.
“Investments such as this continue to make Tasmania the best place to live, work and raise a family.”
