The Victorian Government has extended the deadline for the mandatory registration of private pools and spas due to the impacts of coronavirus.
Campaspe Shire Council’s General Manager Regulatory & Community Services, Mr Paul McKenzie, said all private pools and spas must now be registered with Council by 1 November 2020, extending the original deadline of 1 June by five months.
In announcing the extension to the deadline, the Victorian Government acknowledged that many people are doing it tough and this gives owners and Councils more time to comply with the new regulations ahead of next summer.
Council will be mailing those who have already submitted more than 1,100 pool and spa registrations with the adjusted details due to the extension.
“The extended time frame will give pool and spa owners an additional five months to meet compliance requirements and pay their fees,” Mr McKenzie said.
