All is in readiness for the staging of the eighth annual ArtWalk in Port Macquarie, the town’s most celebrated cultural arts and live music event.
The Port Macquarie CBD will come to life on the eve of the June long weekend with a program packed with exhibitions, activations, illuminations, live performances, artists markets, workshops, creative installations and more.
There will be multiple live sites across a CBD footprint that will stretch from Fisherman’s Wharf to Murray Street.
The program includes art installations featuring a captivating sea turtle hologram, a sand sculpture of dolphins down on Town Green, video projections, whale song performance, activations inside the Glasshouse and at various CBD business sites.
Port Macquarie Mayor Peta Pinson will be opening the event on the main stage at 5pm on Town Green on the evening of Friday June 7.
“ArtWalk is not just an event for art lovers, but also for those who appreciate the culture, history, and creativity of Port Macquarie,” Mayor Pinson said.
“Whether you are a seasoned art collector or a first-time visitor, ArtWalk is an event not to be missed. Come and experience the magic of Port Macquarie’s art scene, and let it inspire and captivate you.”
Port Macquarie Hastings Council was successful in obtaining a $50,000 NSW Government under the Open Streets Program to NSW fund an event first activation of Western end of Clarence Street. The funding will allow for the creation of a youth precinct and street party/on street dining experience in collaboration with established restaurants.
The town centre come alive with local artists across more businesses than ever before and amazing installations that represent our coastal theme this year
