Campaspe Shire Council is seeking expressions of interest for organisations to host markets in the Port of Echuca precinct for the 2024-25 financial year.
The annual expressions of interest process will determine what markets are able to take place in the Port of Echuca for the upcoming year.
Mayor, Cr Rob Amos said applications are considered through an expressions of interest process from both co-operatives and incorporated associations established within the shire, with applications from outside of the municipality being considered at Council’s discretion.
“The process drives local tourism in the area and is a drawcard for visitors, located near several attractions including the Port of Echuca, Echuca Discovery Centre, Visitor Information Centre, Hopwood Gardens, Riverboat Dock, the historic Echuca Warf and the iconic Paddlesteamers.
“We recognise the Port of Echuca is a great place to host events and attractions that add to the vibrancy of the precinct and enhance the tourism experience. I encourage community to submit their applications for the 2024-25 financial year.
“Please note, applications from commercial market holders will not be considered and all markets must support locally made or grown produce and products, second hand, crafts and handmade goods. Resellers are also not permitted at these markets,” Cr Amos added.
