Operating out of Kooindah Park, Lemon Tree Passage for the next 6 to 8 weeks.
The EPA have engaged a contractor (AVCON) to do shoreline clean up of Port Stephens and the Karuah River due to debris left from recent flood events. The EPA and AVCON have gone through the Works on Council Land process and have been approved to operate out of Kooindah Park, Lemon Tree Passage for the next 6-8 weeks. The contractors’ aim is to have all works completed by Christmas.
Below is the location of AVCON’s staging area for the removed waste off the carpark at Lemon Tree Passage boat ramp.
The site includes:
1x 20-foot storage container
1x Manitou Tele handler
1x Chemical bunding area
1x Skip bin for waste
1x Portable toilet
1x Enclosed fence for the perimeter
Proposed route and methodology for access to the work area: AVCON will be launching and using vessels, boats and PWC from Lemon Tree Passage boat ramp to access the worksite/shoreline by water and collect debris.
