The graph is down so the outlook is positive for Stuarts Point despite impending rain, with pumps on standby in the unlikely event that they are needed.
The forecast for wet weather in coming days has raised concerns among some in the Stuarts Point community regarding groundwater levels.
Stuarts Point experienced extremely high groundwater levels following the March flood with dwellings saved from damage through the use of above ground pumps.
Groundwater levels fall at a very slow rate, however while they are still at an elevated level, they have fallen consistently in the recent extended drier period.
Council is monitoring the situation closely with expected rainfall over the weekend and through next week.
The weather system is difficult to predict but latest forecasts are favourable for the area and at this stage Council does not expect to reinstate pumping.
