The Office of Local Government has indicated that the Council Election on Saturday 4 December will proceed under strict COVID-19 safety plans and that more voting options will be made available to residents to reduce crowds.
Penrith City Council’s Election Returning Officer, Peter Herrmann, said the elections in Penrith will be conducted by the Australian Election Company.
“The most important news for voters is that changes have been made to allow residents to apply for a postal vote if they are concerned about the COVID-19 situation,” he said.
Applications for postal votes open on Monday 25 October and close at 5pm, Monday 29 November. Applications will be available:
