The Primary Care Nursing and Midwifery Scholarship Program Grant Opportunity is now open on GrantConnect.
We encourage eligible organisations to apply for the opportunity to administer the $49.363 million program over 4 years.
The program is anticipated to boost the number of nurses in primary care. It will make 1,850 post graduate scholarships available to train more nurse practitioners and endorsed midwives.
The program will address workforce shortages in the medium to long-term by focusing on:
- improving the skills of nursing, midwifery and Aboriginal and Torres Strait health workers
- building the health workforce in primary care, aged care, regional and rural areas.
The purpose of this grant opportunity is to establish and manage the program.
Following an open market approach and competitive selection process, the program will be delivered via a grant. Potential grantees will include nursing and midwifery colleges and associations, should they apply.
Other eligible entities include:
- indigenous corporations
- companies
- incorporated associations
- partnerships.
We anticipate a Grant Agreement will be in place in early 2024.
Applications close on 22 January 2024.
