Four residential properties and a business property in metropolitan Adelaide have been searched by police today in connection with the ongoing investigation into the shooting murder of a man in 2012.
Earlier this month police made a number of arrests in relation to the murder of Jason De Ieso at his Pooraka business on 21 November 2012.
Five men have been charged with murder, while a man and a woman have been charged with assisting an offender. All seven have appeared before the courts.
Mr De Ieso, 33, was shot dead in his paint and panel business workshop in Langford Street when a group of nine men walked onto the premises and opened fire.
The murder is believed to be linked to a dispute between the outlaw motorcycle gangs the Finks and the Hells Angels, however police have stressed that Mr De Ieso was an innocent bystander, caught up in the tensions.
Investigations are continuing in relation to three of the offenders, with one of the nine suspects having died since the shooting.
When the arrests were made earlier this month, police revealed the matter had been the subject of a long-running covert inquiry under the auspices of Operation Persist, with substantial investigation work still to be completed.
Today’s property searches, which involved police from the Major Crime Investigation Branch, Crime Gangs Task Force and STAR Group, are part of that ongoing inquiry.
Anyone with information connected with the death of Mr De Ieso is urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report online at
Rewards of up to $500,000 will be paid by the Government of South Australia, at the discretion of the Commissioner of Police, to anyone who provides information and assistance that leads to the conviction of the person responsible for his murder.
