The Property Council of Australia has welcomed the NSW Government’s decision to remove the requirement for masks across public transport networks from Wednesday 21 September.
Acting Executive Director Adina Cirson said the move away from traveling with masks should give people confidence to move again as we learn to live with COVID and return to a sense of normality.
“The State Government’s decision to continue to adapt and revise health advice provides a much-needed boost in confidence to workers and businesses and will have an immediate impact,” Ms Cirson said.
“The decision to remain on the path to normality instils confidence to our community that it is safe to return to those activities that help drive the economy – like returning to our CBD offices and participating in all our city has to offer.
“Our members have been working hard to ensure that workplaces are safe, and this updated advice sends a clear message to the public that it is time to welcome back our way of life.”
Ms Cirson said CBDs were critical economic engines and the best way to revitalise our cities was to get people back into the office.
“While we know the way of work has changed, we want people to know that the easiest way to help small business recover is to work more days in the office than at home.
“This announcement by the NSW Government will provide that boost of confidence to get people back into the city centre and all it has to offer.”
