Property crime arrest at Willow Vale

Investigators from the Gold Coast Criminal Investigation Branch yesterday executed a search warrant at a Willow Vale address in relation to investigations into an organised stealing syndicate.

It will be alleged police located property suspected of being stolen valued in excess of $20,000 which included electronic and baby goods.

It will be alleged items of value were stolen from retailers across the Gold Coast which were then sold through a variety of internet-based market places.

A 35-year-old Willow Vale woman has been arrested and charged with two counts of enter premises with intent to commit an indictable offence, seven counts of stealing and one count of possession of tainted property.

She is due to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court on 24 April 2019.

Detective Inspector Brendan Smith of the Gold Coast CIB said the theft from retail shops costs the Queensland community millions of dollars annually.

“Yesterday’s effort clearly illustrates the scale of organised nature of this offending and accordingly, the apprehension of those involved is an ongoing priority of the Queensland Police Service.”

Investigations are continuing.
