Red Cliffs residents are encouraged to provide their ideas on where the township’s first half-basketball court should be located.
Mildura Rural City Council is partnering with VicHealth to build the half-court following feedback from the community requesting more outdoor recreation and physical activities for young people.
Councillor for Community Health and Wellbeing Troy Bailey said Council was again turning to the community for advice now that the project was confirmed.
“This is a project that’s been driven by the community, which is great to see, and we want to keep local residents involved by ensuring they have a say in where the court is located,” Cr Bailey said.
“The half-basketball court will provide a new space for the community to socialise, have fun and be active.
“I encourage as many people as possible to participate in the online survey which will help us determine the best location.
“There’s no one better to provide this feedback than the people who will use the court.”
Potential locations have already been narrowed down to six options including Barclay Square, Red Cliffs Swimming Pool, Quandong Park, Simon Court, South Street and Woodbine Park.
Once a location is confirmed, it’s hoped the court will be completed by June 2024.
Residents can find out more and have their say by visiting or by contacting Council’s Community Development team on 03 5018 8100
Feedback closes at 5pm on Tuesday 31 October 2023.
