Broadcaster Prue Bentley is the new presenter of ABC Victorian Statewide Drive.
Already a familiar voice to Victorian audiences as a fill-in presenter on Drive, Prue said she was delighted to be taking on the role permanently.
“Having started my career at Sydney’s youth community station FBI, I’m delighted to come full circle and return to broadcasting as the Statewide Drive Presenter,” she said.
“I believe in the power of conversations to bring people together on important issues.
“I’m looking forward to tackling the local and state-wide issues that matter to our regional audience, shining a light on the diversity of regional living and hearing what’s on people’s minds from day to day.”
Prue served as ABC Editor, Ballarat and Southwest Victoria for the past seven years and prior to that worked on programs from Horsham, Mildura, Ballarat and Melbourne as a presenter, producer and journalist.
Hugh Martin, Victorian Regional Editor, said: “Prue is a consummate storyteller and gifted at bringing out the best in those around her.
“She will bring an energy and focus to Drive and deliver a pacey program that connects audiences across the state and is filled with the news, information and entertainment Victorians need in the afternoon.”
