Police have made an emergency declaration under the Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) due to an ongoing operation at Margate.
The PSPA was declared at 6:50pm, with the exclusion zone (pictured) including Bank Street, Disraeli St, Wighton Street and Oxley Avenue.
Officers were called to a location within the exclusion zone around 5.30pm before a threat to public safety was identified, resulting in the declaration.
Members of the public are advised to avoid the area and those within the exclusion zone are asked to remain secure indoors until further notice.
