Police have declared an emergency declaration under the Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) in Cairns City this morning.
Emergency services are responding to an incident on the corner of McLeod and Spence Streets.
An exclusion zone has been declared between Spence and McLeod Streets, Sheridan Street through to Aplin Street, Bunda Street and Hartley Street.
There is no threat to the public.
Motorists and pedestrians are urged to avoid the area.
