With pre poll voting opening from Monday ahead of the State Election later this month, some parties have responded to issues that are the heart of the employment relationship between a government and its workforce raised by CPSU.

Issues include.

• Bargaining OHS and Employee Relations. • Resourcing for the future. • Addressing staff shortages • Learning and Development and support

Parties to respond.

Derryn Hinch Justice Party (DHJP) – Stuart Grimley Victorian Greens (GRN) – Dr Samantha Ratnam Australian Labor Party (ALP) – Tim Pallas Minister for Industrial Relations & Treasurer Animal Justice Party (AJP) – Andy Meddick

Unfortunately, Lib/Nats, LibDems, DLP, and Reason have not responded on matters that directly impact on the staff that will be employed under the political party or parties that forms Government.

Opposition Leader Matthew Guy has even gone so far as to say today at a press conference that “I don’t need a mark out of 10 from a trade union,” when asked whether he intended to let the public sector workforce know his position if he becomes their Employer.

Quotes attributable to CPSU Victorian Branch Secretary Karen Batt

“Our members deserve to know what type of employer to expect for the next 4 years.”

“There’s 50,000 voters under our coverage spread right across Victoria who’ll be voting like their job depends on it because it does.”
