May the paws be with you in your search for a new family member during Townsville’s Animal Care and Adoption Centre half-price pet sale.
Council isn’t fluffing around with this month-long sale, with cats and dogs that are desexed, wormed, microchipped and have had their first vaccination on offer for half of their usual price.
Community Health, Safety and Environmental Sustainability Committee chairperson Maurie Soars said the sale would help the animals in the centre find their fur-ever homes.
“Animals play an important role in our community as companions for our residents, helping to make houses into homes and providing a lifetime of love for their families,” Cr Soars said.
“We have a range of wonderful cats and dogs at the Animal Care and Adoption Centre who have been temperament assessed to make sure they’re ready to go home with their new families as soon as they’re adopted.
“As a Council we’re focused on growing Townsville into a sustainable destination that embraces recreational activities. We provide more than 500km-worth of footpaths, more than 350 parks and 21 off-leash dog parks which can all be enjoyed with your new furry friend.
“If you’ve been considering adding a pet to your family, give the Animal Care and Adoption Centre a call and book in a time to head out and visit the centre to see if your perfect new pup or kitten is available.”
The half price sale at the Animal Care and Adoption Centre runs until Wednesday 31 May.
