A man has been arrested after a short pursuit and foot chase through the western suburbs.
Just after 12.30am on Tuesday 15 October, Western District patrols were driving on Semaphore Road Semaphore when they observed a Ford sedan driving without headlights. Police attempted to stop the vehicle however the driver failed to stop and sped off heading towards Victoria Road.
Police followed the vehicle until Polair took over the pursuit. The sedan drove through Henley Beach and onto the Port River Expressway.
Cordons were put in place and the car was successfully spiked on Port Wakefield Road at Paralowie.
The car continued for a short distance with two spiked tyres until it came to a stop on Port Wakefield Road.
The driver ran from the vehicle through backyards and onto the roof of a house when he fell through the carport.
The 26-year-old man from Davoren Park was arrested in the rear yard of a house on Boyara Crescent after a short struggle.
He was charged with engage in police pursuit, driving without lights, driving disqualified, driving at a speed dangerous, driving an unregistered vehicle, carry offensive weapon, unlawful possession and resist arrest. He was refused bail and will appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court today.
