Queerstories is returning to Wollongong this Friday 30 October with five local presenters lined-up to perform at the Wollongong Town Hall.

Hosted by Wollongong City Libraries, Queerstories is a LGBTQIA+ event that showcases local performers, artists and comedians as they share their tales of pride, prejudice, love, life and humour.

Joshua Lobb — Joshua is a Wollongong local who spends his weeks teaching Creative Writing at the University of Wollongong. You might recognise him as the author of The Flight of Birds (2019), a ‘novel in stories’ about grief and climate change. Joshua has also published stories in The Bridport Prize Anthology, Best Australian Stories, Animal Studies Journal, Griffith Review, Text, Southerly and Island.
Neisha Murphy — Neisha is a vibrant variety entertainer and director who blends a mix of physical skill and characterisation with juggling, slack rope, hosting, comedy and a range of daredevil stunts. Neisha has recently finished the development of her theatre circus show ‘ChaChi The Variety Superstar’ with the Merrigong Theatre Company.
Atul Joshi — Atul was born in Myanmar of Indian parents and migrated to Australia as a child in 1971. A former classical musician, he now lives in NSW’s Southern Highlands and works at Bundanon Trust in the Shoalhaven. Atul has just completed his Master of Arts in Creative Writing at UTS and is a published writer in several Australian and International publications.
Belinda Quinn — Belinda writes, listens, plays and rests on the lands of the Yuin and Dharawal language groups. They have worked in street press, commercial magazines, and have volunteered for community radio. Their writing has featured in Music Feeds, The Brag, Archer, The Music, MusicTech, and more.
Zephyr DeLuna — Zephyr is a self-professed tiny and feisty intermediate twerker, androgynous tomboy, part-time bogan, Wiccan, gender-fluid, pansexual and polyamorous, proud queer Asian. A Wollongong-born artist and drag king performer known as Euthan Asian, Zephyr started performing in 2019. Since then, Zephyr has performed in Melbourne and Sydney, including as a headliner performer for The Drag Kings. Zephyr’s passion for social justice through art and performance extends past the stage, as Zephyr has worked in the Illawarra’s community sector for over 15 years.
