The Tasmanian Liberal Government is getting on with the job of delivering our election commitments and supporting Tasmanian businesses.
Requests for quotations have now been issued to install solar energy systems for the first nine schools through our Renewable Energy Schools Program.
As part of our 2021 election commitments, our Government committed $5 million to fund solar panels in over 100 schools over the next four years, with the savings in energy bills to be reinvested back into the program.
Quotes have been sought to supply and install new solar energy systems at Hobart City High School, Bayview Secondary College, Jordan River Learning Federation Senior School, Clarence High School, Southern Support School, Newstead College, Riverside High School, Burnie High School and Prospect High School.
These works packages will provide opportunities for local businesses across Tasmania.
The Renewable Energy Schools Program is part of the Government’s strong commitment to investing in renewable energy and making our education facilities more energy efficient.
Solar energy systems for the first nine schools are expected to be installed before the end of this year, with the next tranche of recipients to be announced in coming months.
