RACV AND YALARI PARTNER TO PROVIDE EDUCATION OPPORTUNITIES TO INDIGENOUS CHILDREN

RACV

RACV and have announced a three-year partnership to support education opportunities for Indigenous children from regional and remote communities across Australia.

Yalari is a not-for-profit organisation that offers quality secondary education scholarships at leading Australian boarding schools for Indigenous children.

Yalari’s mission is to educate and empower Indigenous children to bring about generational change by providing education opportunities to help achieve positive outcomes for students and their families and support them to make valuable contributions as Australians.

Yalari Managing Director Llew Mullins said the partnership was unlike anything they’ve had before.

“The partnership between RACV and Yalari is so exciting and the generosity of in-kind and financial support is overwhelming,” said Llew.

“We have already experienced the genuine hospitality of RACV at the Royal Pines Resort in early January when our Senior School Leaders and Alumni were welcomed as they supported our new Yalari students at our Orientation Camp at The Southport School on the Gold Coast in Queensland.

“Thanks to RACV and Neil Taylor for the understanding, respect and action you are affording Yalari with our partnership.”

RACV Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Neil Taylor said organisations like Yalari are essential in helping to address the systemic disadvantages experienced by First Nations communities across Australia.

“Every Australian should have access to quality education – despite their location – and educational support from organisations like Yalari make a positive difference in young people’s lives,” Mr Taylor said.

“We look forward to supporting Yalari to deliver quality education that will provide students with the tools they need for a brighter future for themselves and their communities.”

RACV’s partnership will help Yalari to deliver programs, workshops, awards, professional development and driving lessons and tests for year 12 students.

“RACV employees will have the chance to get involved in the partnership through volunteering opportunities. There are a variety of ways to be involved to further enrich and support Yalari’s programs,” Mr Taylor said.
