South Australians are getting easier and quicker access to Rapid Antigen Tests through the opening of two sites – one in Adelaide’s South yesterday and another in the northern suburbs at 8am today.
Premier Steven Marshall said the state’s newest site, at The Paddocks near the corner of Kesters and Bridge roads, would open at 8am today while another site in Playford was expected to be operational by the end of the week.
It follows yesterday’s opening of a collection site at the Noarlunga Interchange car park, bringing the total number to four metro and eight regional sites throughout South Australia.
“Ensuring easy access to Rapid Antigen Tests for are close contacts is another plank in our strong plan in response to the Omicron variant,” Premier Marshall said.
“These three new sites, which complement the South Parklands supersite and our numerous regional sites, will help keep South Australians safe and our economy strong.
“Omicron was a game changer but South Australia’s strong plan is mitigating the health and economic threat while also navigating our State’s inevitable opening up and protecting local jobs during this challenging period.”
The RAT collection sites will provide two free RATs for people who are considered close contacts and will allow an increase in the number of tests taken to get a clearer picture of how many COVID positive people are in the community.
If you don’t have immediate access to a RAT test and you are a close contact, or have symptoms, South Australians are advised to use one of the more than 80 PCR testing sites throughout the state.
The Salisbury Site will be open from 8.00am to 6.00pm, 7 days a week, however it is important to note that these times may vary.
Entry by vehicle, bicycle or walk-ins are accepted although South Australians must register with SA Health before entry.
Entry to the site will be from Bridge Rd via the entrance closest to the Wanderers Netball clubrooms and the exit will be via Kesters Rd.
Traffic control officers will be present in all key areas during the stations operating hours and will be able to assist people on site.
