Raptor Squad officers charge alleged member of Finks OMCG following the seizure of pistol and drugs

Raptor Squad officers have charged a Wentworthville man and woman for drug and firearms offences after a pistol and drugs were located in a wardrobe this week.

About 11.50am Tuesday 10 September 2024, officers attached to State Crime Command’s Raptor Squad executed a Firearms Prohibition Order (FPO) compliance check at a home on Bartlett Street, South Wentworthville.

During the search, officers located a pistol, ammunition and small amounts of prohibited drugs in a wardrobe in the home.

Following further inquiries, Raptor Squad officers arrested a 33-year-old woman during a vehicle stop on Old Prospect Road, Wentworthville, a short time later.

During the arrest, officers located knuckle dusters, a slingshot, an extendable baton and small amounts of cocaine and cannabis in the car.

She was taken to Granville Police Station where she was charged with possess unauthorised pistol and possess ammunition without holding licence/permit/authority.

About 5.50am yesterday (Wednesday 11 September 2024), Raptor Squad officers arrested a 32-year-old man – with alleged links to the Finks OMCG – at Parramatta Police Station.

He was charged with three counts of use prohibited weapon contrary to prohibition order, two counts of possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit, possess unauthorised pistol, acquire pistol subject to firearms prohibition order, possess ammunition without holding licence/permit/authority, acquire ammunition subject to prohibition order and possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit.

They were both refused bail to appear before Parramatta Local Court yesterday.
