Wyndham Cultural Centre is pleased to announce Sionnach Rua’s Great Irish Song Book will be performing on Friday 28 April at 7.30pm.
Come and be immersed in the authentic Ireland of old, with Sionnach Rua’s tunes and tales that will have you thinking you are in a bar in Ireland.
The show is interwoven with rich stories of Irish traditions and histories that will have you singing and laughing along.
Wyndham City’s Creative City portfolio holder, Cr Marcel Mahfoud, said: “Enjoy a night of Irish nostalgia. Ireland’s rich and unique culture is coming to Wyndham so dust off your best greenery and get into the Irish comradery and come along.”
“Sionnach Rua’s Great Irish Songbook is an authentic music and story catalogue from an Irish born and raised front man Gallie. It will be an entertaining and fun evening.”
The show will feature stories from Gallie’s Irish upbringing, with tales of Irish tradition and histories, the audience will be transported back to the Ireland of yesteryear with a lively session of Celtic celebration with Celtic music and songs ranging from Planxty to Van Morrison to the Dubliners.
“This stage show will make you feel like you are visiting an Irish bar without having to travel across the world,” Cr Mahfoud said.
Joining Gallie, (Vocal, acoustic guitar, bodhran) are acclaimed Australian maestro and multi -instrumentalists, Ruth Wise (fiddle) Paddy Montgomery Australian folk music awards 2022 Instrumentalist of the Year (bouzouki, guitar) and Sam Davies (uillean pipes, tin whistle, low whistle).
