A Matt Guy Liberals and ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾s Government will fund up to $275,000 for the Pat Cronin Foundation to expand the important work it does across within Victorian schools.
The Pat Cronin Foundation’s vision is to end senseless violence that is devastating families and communities, teaching their Be Wise program to schools and sporting clubs across Victoria.
The education sessions are an important resource for school-aged children and young adults to learn how to identify and prevent violence, and end the coward punch.
The Liberals and ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾s commitment will see the expansion of the program, allowing for an increased number of sessions to be delivered to Victorian Secondary Schools in 2023.
Minister for Youth Affairs, Dr Matt Bach, said the Pat Cronin Foundation delivered an important message to young people across the state.
“It is importantly teaching tens of thousands of Victorians across hundreds of schools and organisations that violence is never the answer.”
“This funding is a really important commitment to supporting the foundation, because violence has no place in our communities.”
Liberal Candidate for Eltham, Jason McClintock, said the charity and its cause was well known across the community.
“A terrible event was the beginning of this brilliant program, and it deserves ongoing support to have a real impact on more young Victorians.”
“Only the Liberals and ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾s will support the Pat Cronin Foundation’s expansion to teach more young people its important lesson.”
