The program provides grants of up to $5,000 to increase the uptake of ADS-B equipment in Australian-registered aircraft to improve safety and efficiency for Australian airspace users.
Around $740,000 in rebates have already been provided under the program as of 30 April 2023, supporting the instalment of ADS-B systems in 635 aircraft – giving pilots better situational awareness and enhancing Australia’s aviation search and rescue capabilities.
$15 million in funding is available under the program over the 2023-24 financial year, with the application deadline extended to 31 May 2024.
We encourage registered owners of crewed aircraft operating under Visual Flight Rules to review their eligibility under the program to support their uptake of ADS-B equipment.
