Narrandera Shire Council, Narrandera Business Group and TAFE NSW are once again partnering to participate in Small Business Month this March.
The theme for March is ‘Rebuild Recharge and Renew’ and this has been adapted to Rebuild Recharge and Renew(ables) as Narrandera is on the cusp of a state-significant solar Farm becoming a reality in the Shire. The Avonlie Solar Farm at Sandigo is being built by Beon Energy Solutions for international energy group Iberdrola.
In recognition of this major activity and the expected positive economic impact it will have on Narrandera, the three partner organisations are organising two exciting events on Thursday 10 March.
Chairman of the Narrandera Business Group John Foster today announced the first event – a free coach familiarisation tour to the Avonlie Solar farm at Sandigo. The tour is available to potential workers at the solar farm and participants will be addressed at the solar farm site by a representative of Beon Energy, who will explain the work opportunities available.
“I encourage any tradespeople or workers interested in opportunities at the solar farm to take advantage of this free site visit with light lunch provided at no cost,” Mr Foster said.
The coach will depart TAFE NSW Narrandera Campus at 11.30am and will return at approximately 2.30pm. Interested participants can make a booking via Eventbrite.
The second event that day will be a networking evening featuring a guest speaker, canapes and drinks at TAFE NSW Narrandera Campus CLC, 54-68 Elwin Street Narrandera starting at 6pm. Members of the local business community are encouraged to attend as well as tradespeople and potential solar farm workers.
Mayor Neville Kschenka said today, “This important event will enable members of the business community and others interested in employment at the future Avonlie Solar farm to get together and discuss how they can best take advantage of this opportunity while enjoying one another’s company in a social environment.”
