The long-standing achievements of our North West Tasmania Fire Service volunteers have today been recognised at the 2024 North West Region medals presentation.
There are 52 Tasmania Fire Service volunteers and 5 SES volunteers receiving National Medals from 15 years of service through to 55 years.
Minister for Police, Fire and Emergency Management, Felix Ellis, said our career and volunteer TFS members are everyday heroes across the communities they serve.
“Each of the TFS members recognised today have demonstrated an exceptional level of commitment to their community over the years, whether that be on the front line or in operational and support roles, and these medals are a proud acknowledgement of their service,” Minister Ellis said.
“It’s because of dedicated Tasmanians such as those being recognised today that we can continue to back in our Fire and Emergency Services to keep our communities safe, a key focus of this government’s 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania’s Future.
“Our TFS members make a valuable contribution to the communities they serve, and I want to thank each of them and their families for the great sacrifices they make to help keep the rest of us safe.”
