This year’s festival theme is ‘Reconnected’. Over the last two years we’ve all been more isolated from each other – physically and socially. Now more than ever we need to find new ways to connect, and the Seniors Festival is the perfect opportunity to do that.

The program of events includes 42 exciting activities, which are designed to give seniors in our community opportunities to reconnect with friends, and to celebrate the remarkable contributions they make to our community.

Blue Mountains Mayor, Cr Mark Greenhill said: “Seniors Festival is one of my favourite times of year, because we get to shine a light on these remarkable and irreplaceable members of our community.

“Our Blue Mountains population is ageing and almost 20% of us is over 65 years of age. That’s a lot, and it is vitally important that we continue to care for our elderly, help them stay connected, and acknowledge and celebrate the remarkable contributions they make to society.”

All events will strictly follow COVID safe procedures, as outlined by NSW Health.

The NSW Seniors Festival is held every year, and is an opportunity to promote a better understanding of seniors within the community and the value they add to our lives. It is also an opportunity to encourage older people to lead active lifestyles and participate at all levels in our community.

NSW Seniors Festival (formerly Seniors Week) is the largest festival for seniors in the Southern Hemisphere.
