South Australia now has more people in work than ever before – and the equal lowest unemployment rate since records began.
Labour Force data released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics today for December 2022 shows an unprecedented 923,400 South Australians are now employed, up 2,900 from the previous month.
South Australia’s unemployment rate is now 3.9 per cent, down from 4.1 per cent last month. This is the second time since records began that our unemployment rate has started with a 3.
More than 608,000 of those are employed full time, an increase of 6,500 on the previous month.
There are now 15,200 more South Australians in work than at the time of the state election in March 2022 and SA no longer has the highest unemployment rate in the country.
³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾ly, the unemployment rate sits at 3.5 per cent.
Encouragingly, these results coincide with an increase in the participation rate to 63.5 per cent.
