A $27 million proposal is set to transform the historic Nedlands Bath site on the Swan River into an iconic tourist attraction for Western Australia.
The redevelopment proposal includes a two-storey boutique hotel, function centre, restaurant, café, bar, public amenities and a protected marina.
The project is expected to support more than 100 jobs during construction and provide ongoing employment once completed.
The proposal by Sevens Group Australia has been named a tourism project of State significance by the McGowan Government.
The project will receive support from Tourism WA’s Tourism Attractions Case Management team which assists projects that will have a significant impact to tourism and the WA economy.
The new development will be built over the water on the existing lease which is currently home to a marina and the recently closed JoJo’s Café.
Sevens Group Australia will now begin a community consultation process.
As stated by Tourism Minister Roger Cook:

“As a project of State significance, I’m proud to support this project through our Tourism Attractions Case Management team, which is working with the Sevens Group to help navigate the relevant approval processes.
“The development of tourism attractions such as this will help showcase Perth and Western Australia as a must-visit destination, as we prepare to welcome the return of visitors from around the world.”

“The historic Nedlands Baths site has great meaning to this community – it’s an amazing community asset which is currently under-utilised.
“The redevelopment proposal will transform the site – once again – to being a thriving and accessible community asset.
“The community consultation process will allow people the opportunity to have a say in how the site will be used and best suit the needs of not just the people of Nedlands, but the whole WA community, our visitors and tourists.”
