As the first year of the Climate Decade concludes, we call for attention on India’s role in the global transition in the climate action agenda.
At Climate Week NYC 2020 (September 24, 2020) Indian leaders from government, business and civil society organisations will identify crucial priority areas to address the domestic challenges as well as our contribution to maintaining global warming temperatures to 1.5 °C.
Our esteemed panel of speakers include,

The discussion will open with remarks by Joan MacNaughton CB Hon FEI, Chair of the Climate Group Board panel, moderated by Divya Sharma, Executive Director, Climate Group, India, and conclude with a statement by Helen Clarkson, CEO, the Climate Group.
Setting pathways in India for the next decade
The 2020s are crucial for India to step up commitment and actions to meet our climate goals. Globally, there is recognition and spur of actions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and bring about systemic change in energy, mobility, and industry and food sectors. In India, we are already moving towards this goal with the government’s endorsement and businesses stepping up their commitment to clean technology.
However, for us to secure our future, amid the pandemic and rampant natural disasters we are facing, it becomes important for us to have a clear, synchronized, and resource-backed plan for the next 10 years. This brings focus to key priority areas such as:

It will also help us learn as well as reflect upon what other nations, industry and collectives of people are doing on innovative and effective ways to drive climate action.
The India Hub Live event will help us curate a clear and collective narrative for the country to set stage to the next decade and drive ambition, knowledge, and engagement to drastically bring down greenhouse gas emissions across the country while ensuring green recovery and long term growth.
