Detectives investigating the stabbing of a 14-year-old boy at Macquarie Park on the weekend are appealing for further witnesses to come forward.
Just before 5.30pm on Sunday 11 June 2023, emergency services were called to a park in Herring Road, Macquarie Park, following reports of a brawl.
On arrival, officers from Ryde Police Area Command located a 14-year-old boy suffering a stab wound at a nearby railway station.
He was taken to hospital in a critical condition.
It’s alleged the injured boy was involved in a fight with a group of teens at the park before fleeing to the railway station where he was allegedly stabbed by one of the teens.
A crime scene was established at both locations, and investigation commenced into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Following inquiries, five boys were arrested at Cherrybrook Train Station a short time later and conveyed to Ryde and Castle Hill Police Station.
Five teens have been charged and remain before the courts.
As investigations continue, police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, or has information or dash-cam footage, to come forward.
