Residents will have the chance to shape the future economic development of Orange through the development of an Economic Development Strategy and Action Plan that will guide the city over the next five years.
Orange City Council is working with independent consultants, SGS Economics and Planning and The Planning Studio to develop the new strategy.
BUSINESS: Orange City Council wants to hear the views and insights of the local business community as the new strategy is developed.
Orange City Council’s Economic Development Community Committee Chair Cr Tony Mileto said the first step is to hear from the local community and draw on the experience of local business and industry.
“Whether you run a business or participate in the economy as a customer, the people of Orange have the insights and understanding that Council wants to draw on,”Cr Mileto said.
Residents are invited
The survey will be open for comment until the end of February 2024.
The online survey asks questions about how businesses can be best supported, what role Orange City Council should play, and what is driving the Orange economy now.
“This survey provides an opportunity for the Orange community to share their experiences and perspectives,” Cr Mileto said.
“The survey will take approximately five minutes to complete and will help shape the strategic directions to guide the future of the local economy of Orange.
“Our local business economy has many sides to it, from tourism and retail sectors through to education and professional services. We want this Strategy and Action Plan to reflect that diversity, so I want to encourage locals to share their experiences and perspectives.”
Following the online engagement, targeted face-to-face workshops will be held early in 2024.
