Some of the world’s greatest plans have been hatched in a yarn around the kitchen table.
That’s just the kind of relaxed, friendly vibe Corangamite Shire Council is trying to capture at an upcoming series of brainstorming sessions.
After Mayor Kate Makin and CEO David Rae had a number of successful and informative pop-up sessions in April, councillors and staff are hitting the road for another series of “kitchen table” conversations in late June and July.
Sessions will be held in each of the Shire’s 12 towns with a range of times to suit working and childcare hours.
Cr Makin invited residents to come and discuss their priorities and planning for our Shire.
“Your elected Councillors and the Council organisation work for you,” Cr Makin said.
“These casual conversations are a way to find out what matters to our residents, what they need, and what they think we do well or could improve on.
“Come along and tell us your thoughts about what’s happening in your local community.”
“We want big picture ideas to help develop the next Council Plan and refresh the themes that residents raised in the 2040 Community Vision. You can always call your local Ward Councillor and contact Council by phone, email or social media.”
