Residents welcomed as Australian citizens 28 June

New citizens

41 Hawkesbury residents are now Australian Citizens after attending Hawkesbury City Council’s Australian Citizenship Ceremony at the new Hawkesbury Pavillion at the Hawkesbury Showground, Clarendon on Sunday, 26 June 2022.

Council hosts citizenship ceremonies for local residents who have applied to become Australian citizens through the Department of ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾ Affairs.

The Deputy Mayor of Hawkesbury, Councillor Barry Calvert officiated at the Citizenship Ceremony, which was also attended by the Federal Member for Macquarie, Susan Templeman, State Member for Hawkesbury Ms Robyn Preston, Air Commodore Carl Newman from RAAF Base Richmond and Councillors.

“It is great to welcome you all as new Australian citizens in the Hawkesbury,” Deputy Mayor Calvert said.

“It is a great honour to confer Australian citizenship to people who appreciate and respect our values and who want to make Australia their home.”

The residents who became Australian citizens were born in a wide range of countries including the Philippines, Vietnam, South Africa, the United Kingdom, Ghana, Fiji, France, Nepal, Cambodia, Ireland, New Zealand, Turkey, India and Denmark.
