Mayor Ryan Palmer says the improvements make Shoal Bay an even more attractive place to spend time for both locals and visitors.

“These works improve our town centre and make our place more vibrant, liveable and accessible for all.

“The new amenities, shared pathway, landscaping and park furniture provide the perfect place for families to picnic while enjoying the incredible scenery of the Tomaree Headland and the port,” Mr Palmer said.

“The foreshore upgrades were possible thanks to our PS2020 projects fund, a Crown Reserves Improvement Fund grant and a Local Roads and Community Infrastructure grant.”

“We also acknowledge the Shoal Bay Community Association for their active involvement in this project and their commitment to maintaining the beauty of the foreshore with their weekly working bees,” he added.

Shoal Bay community experts recently set the priorities for their place at a workshop in September to help Council develop the Shoal Bay place plan. These plans aims to improve the livability and wellbeing of the community, recognising the importance of public spaces, community infrastructure and healthy local economies in creating great places to live, work and visit.
