More than 200 people came along to Hawkesbury Library Service’s author talk on Tuesday, 5 December for an entertaining evening with Richard Glover at Hawkesbury Central Library, Windsor. It was one of the Library’s largest gatherings ever for an author talk.
Well-known as the host of the afternoon drive slot on ABC Radio Sydney and as a broadcaster on various ABC radio programs over the last 25 years, Richard is also the author of 17 books. With excerpts from his latest release, ‘Best wishes’ he took the audience on a trip down memory lane, to the 1960s and 1970s with his hilarious anecdotes. His observations, sometimes intensely honest, were witty and entertaining. Many of those attending took the opportunity to purchase copies of Richard’s books and have them personally signed by the author.
Library staff transformed Hawkesbury Central Library into an entertaining area for the event, utilising the large space under the atrium. Attendees were full of compliments about the space and hospitality.
This was the final author event presented by Hawkesbury Library Service for 2023. Throughout the year, Hawkesbury Library Service has had a number of high profile authors visit including Claire Fletcher, Rachel Franks, Jackie Dent and Matthew Evans.
