I am delighted to announce that South Australia’s Rising Sun Pictures is the 2024 Australian Exporter of the Year, and winner of the Creative Industries category in this year’s Australian Export Awards.
The Adelaide-based visual effects company is renowned for its pioneering work bringing Hollywood blockbusters to life – this year’s credits include The Fall Guy, Deadpool and Wolverine and Harold and the Purple Crayon.
Operating over almost three decades, Rising Sun Pictures’ expertise is highly sought after by major Hollywood studios and streaming giants, employing a team of more than 340 staff across its Adelaide and Brisbane studios.
This years’ export award winners showcase the very best of our export community.
I congratulate all winners across the 13 categories and recognise the 88 outstanding national finalists who are winners in their home state or territory.
The calibre of finalists this year was exceptional, collectively employing more than 24,300 people and generating more than $7.8 billion in export earnings in the last financial year.
Over half of this year’s finalists are small businesses with an annual turnover of less than $10 million.
These businesses contribute to our shared economic success and prosperity, both in our local communities, and the broader economy for the benefit of all Australians.
This year the Australian Export Awards received more than 360 applications.
Running since 1963, the Australian Export Awards, presented by the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade), is Australia’s longest running export awards program.
