Murray River Council has announced the final artists selected for the River Country Art Trail, an inspiring initiative to transform the region’s water towers and Tooleybuc’s beloved Mensforth Park into captivating public art landmarks.
Following extensive community engagement and a rigorous selection process, we’re excited to welcome renowned artists DULK, Twoone, Heesco, Gus Eagleton, and Stuart Green, each bringing unique visions to life across our communities.
Beginning November 17th, Spanish artist DULK will launch the first installation, applying his vibrant, nature-inspired imagery to Mathoura’s water tower. Soon after, Japanese-born artist Twoone will follow, beginning his mural on Moama’s tower on December 6th.
Both installations are expected to wrap up by Christmas, adding a burst of colour as we head into the festive season.
Installations in Barham, Moulamein and Tooleybuc will commence in early 2025.
Mayor, John Harvie welcomed the project milestone.
“This project will not only enrich our towns’ visual landscapes but is also set to boost local tourism, offering a distinctive attraction for visitors exploring River Country.”
“Council looks forward to the final results and invites everyone to celebrate these new cultural icons as they pop-up in our towns.”
The River Country Art Trail, externally funded by a $1.7 million investment from the NSW Government’s Regional Tourism Activation Fund, is dedicated to enhancing tourism infrastructure across NSW. With installations in Barham, Moulamein, Mathoura, Moama, and a striking sculpture by Stuart Green in Tooleybuc, the trail celebrates the unique character of each community through diverse artistic styles and themes.
While the installation phase is in progress, Council is asking community members to be mindful as these talented artists bring their visions to life.
Each mural and sculpture represent hours of dedicated work, creativity, and focus. While the community is encouraged to enjoy and observe the transformation, please respect the artists’ space and allow them the concentration needed to complete these remarkable artworks.
Stay tuned for updates, including artist interviews, progress photos, and the reveal of each finished piece.
