The Riverboat Music Festival on the mighty Murray River is set to be bigger and better than ever, with backing from the Andrews Labor Government.
The Riverboats Music Festival is the Murray River’s premiere contemporary music festival and in its eighth year set a record, selling out in just nine days.
The Labor Government is supporting the Riverboats Music Festival through its $20 million Regional Events Fund, which has helped deliver more than 180 local events throughout regional Victoria.
Founded in 2012, the festival has featured major international and local talent including Neil Finn, Paul Kelly, Missy Higgins, The Cat Empire and Pete Murray.
This year’s line-up promises to impress with the Waifs, Augie March, Tex Perkins and Mark Seymour and the Undertow all performing over the three-day event staged in the twin-towns of Echuca-Moama.
Festival goers will have the opportunity to cruise down the Murray River whilst enjoying an unforgettable series of live performances aboard Echuca’s historic paddlesteamer fleet throughout the weekend.
Over its seven-year history, the Riverboats Music Festival has attracted over 45,000 visitors to the region and contributed an estimated $2.34 million to the Murray region’s local economy each year.
In further testament to its appeal, the Riverboats Music Festival was awarded Gold in the Events and Festivals category for the 2017 and 2018 RACV Victorian Tourism Awards.
The Regional Events Fund promotes a strong calendar of regional events that work to attract visitors to regional Victoria, boost employment and drive growth which helps our local communities to thrive.
The Riverboats Music Festival will be held from 15-17 February 2019. For more information, visit the website, .
